Paavo Nurmi is considered the greatest runner of all time. Famous all over the world, Nurmi became an unending source of national pride for the newly independent Finland. In Turku Paavo Nurmi's sport-and cultural heritage are being reinforced by Paavo Nurmi Legacy work. Paavo Nurmi Legacy work aims to create connections and activity which realizes in public and visible actions. Project's executor PN Turku Ltd has taken as its social and communal mission to preserve Paavo Nurmi's sport- and cultural heritage in distinctive and innovative 21st Century manner. Paavo Nurmi Legacy work is executed as part of the Paavo Nurmi Festival project. Paavo Nurmi Legacy work consists of different ongoing actions such as Paavo Nurmi School Tour, Paavo Nurmi website in nine languages, yearly broadcasted Paavo Nurmi Documentary and Paavo Nurmi home museum and burial site.
