Description:
Restoration of the former bank and stock exchange building into a modern office building. The building lost its function in 1925 and was in a very poor state in 1958 when the ÖRAG (Austrian Real Estate Company) became the proprietor. After thorough preparation, restoration was carried out by stages over a period of five years, during which one part of the building after the other has been restored with the same attention and accuracy. The precious substance of the building with its rich pictural and sculptural decoration has been preserved. Alois Machatschek has directed the revitalization.
