Description:
Wikipedra is a collaborative project developed by the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia in partnership with the Drac Verd Association, which enables users to enter, view and consult information about dry stone constructions in Catalonia (Spain) and the municipalities that comprise the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Natural Park, the Conflent-Canigó Community, and the Ariège Pyrenees Regional Natural Park (France). The goal is to gather information about the largest possible number of dry stone constructions in order to restore and promote this traditional architectural landscape heritage as a dominant, distinctive element of a large part of the rural landscapes of Catalonia and of other areas neighbouring the Mediterranean, with the cooperation of the civil society. Wikipedra celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021. During these 10 years, more than 450 participants have inventoried more than 28.300 constructions and a stable, cross-border social fabric has been consolidated.
