Description:
The Cloisters of the Recollets (Cloître des Récollets), built in the 13th century as part of the Franciscan monastery, are situated in the conservation zone of the city of Metz near the Cathedral. In 1791 they have been used as a workshops for the Rhine army. More or less abandoned for two centuries. Buildings and garden were thoughtful restored and converted to a resarch institute (European Institut of Ecology).
