Description:
Empathic Archaeology is a concept of the Hunebedcentrum in Borger (Netherlands) in which scientific knowledge and authentic tangible and intangible heritage are combined with personalized storytelling and awareness raising on the subject of the Neolithic dolmenbuilders in the Netherlands. The main aim was not to reach the potential museum visitor and convince him or her to actually visit the Hunebedcentrum, but to reach the groups of people who do not usually visit a museum, but are interested in (prehistoric) anchors in the globalising times of our era. It resulted in - at least partially - unusual products for a museum, such as a tv series, an educational curriculum for teachers institutes, a movie, a documentary and a musical.
