Description:
Restoration of the former Hospital de San Rafael, built 1791 round a big courtyard, and adaptation for the new use as seat of the Regional Parliament. The building was in state of advanced decay- the recent design of the rehabilitation was winner of an architectural competition. The courtyard as main centre was covered with a lightweight structure with sandwiched glass - reception hall and access to the upper floors including a new attic floor. Creation of new infill elements to the old shell: two staircases and the parliamentary session room. Adding of modern elements, both in design and material similar to the historical ones.
