Thanks to the action "Rettet die Grazer Altstadt", the population of Graz directed its attention to the inherent beauty and worth of the city centre. This is to be seen in its entirety as a work of art and so especially since 1974 many efforts have been undertaken to preserve its beauty. Ten different projects are presented: 1- old palace in Sackstraße, 2- model-renovation, 3- renovation of birth place of Karl Böhm, 4- Franziskanergasse 7, 5- Schützenhof, 6- Mosereck, 7- pedestrian area, 8- churches, 9- green for Graz, 10- congress centre. The saving and restoration of valuable historical structures, creation of comfortable livingspace, the preservation of cafes, restaurants and communication centres as well as the creation of a pedestrian area and more green.
