Description:
A Medal in Category 4 - Education, Training and Awareness Raising has been given to the International Heritage Photographic Experience (IHPE), the coordination of which is carried out by the Museu d'Història de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Started in 1992, it aims to encourage young people to experience their cultural heritage and their history by documenting it through photographs. The experience is an international initiative, bringing together photographers from over 40 countries to show a common thread running through Europe's cultural heritage. Every year, an exhibition with catalogue is compiled from the best entries from the participating countries. The project is valued for it being able to promote cultural heritage, especially among young people, and for the international dimension of this experience via its integration in the dynamics of the European Heritage Days.
