Description:
Restoration and adaption of a 19th century Ottoman mansion into the Corporate Headquarters of Koç Holding. The client wanted to create a contemporary complex with advanced technology, while stressing the country`s long history, tradition and rich cultural heritage. To achieve this aim, the Group chose Mehemet Serif Pasha mansion, built in the 19th century overlooking the Bosphorus in Istanbul. The property reflects the Ottoman way of life with separate buildings for different purposes. The rundown buildings damaged by fire were carefully restored in 1986. Today this same complex of buildings serves as offices to the various departments of Koç Holding. The untouched landscape with century old trees is kept as a traditional Ottoman garden. The old underground cisterns and aqueducts of Mehemet ?erif Pa?a were reinstituted and are used today to water the lawns.
