Description:
Restoration, of an 18th century church and adjoining warehouses, extensively damaged during an air raid on the 16th January 1941. Materials and construction methods similar to original. The warehouses are now used as exhibition center. The church is a cultural and educational center. Restoration of the whole buildings including roofing and decoration works. The aim of the project was twofold: on one hand the conservation of a jewel of Baroque art its grandest period, on the other hand to afford the opportunity for students and supervisors of masonry to gain valuable experience in restoration work, particularly in masonry dome construction and masonry decoration mouldings.
