Description:
Restoration of the Hospital Real, one of the buildings which documents most clearly the history of Granada at the end of the 16th century, and conversion to university building. This gothic building with many later additions is in the form of a closed cross with 4 courtyards. Its use had been broken down into different "offices", with the resultant difficulties of maintaining a continuity of atmosphere throughout. The new function chosen - that of university activities and administration, is a response to the original ambience of the "Hospital Real".
