Restoration of barracks block, built 1885 in the "red Norman" style, to army education centre and library. Building was severely damaged by its various occupants and during war. The problem was to provide up-to-date teaching facilities, whilst retaining the robust original character of the building. Repairs of brickwork, having located exactly matching facing bricks, renewal of all doors, windows, floor finishes and plasterwork. New lighting to emphasize vault modeling; installation of new oak fire doors to replace aluminium. Discovery of a regimental badge on a barrel vault and restoration.
