Description:
The path forms part of the Pennine Way and is used by many thousand walkers each year. The project was the building of a stone pitched footpath to repair a massive eroded hillside. After nearly nine months hard physical effort by a team of National Trust staff, involving over 300 tones of stone, the path was completed and the adjoining moorland vegetation was rapidly recovering.
