Restoration of Georgian (1764-84) naval storehouse in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, a main tourist attraction. Reconstruction of clocktower and cupola destroyed by bombs in 1941 air raid. Extensive research ensured that the clocktower reflected the original as closely as possible. Work involved major restoration and repair of external fabric and new roof covering. Tower built of timber with cast lead covering to cupola. A clock built in 1878 was overhauled and is installed in the clocktower. Project commissioned by Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust which is responsible for the conservation, maintenance and future use of buildings in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
