Large-scale rehabilitation of a Georgian Town Centre - in the Whitehaven Conservation Area to provide 60 housing units and 2 commercial units. Local authority and private industry - British Nuclear Fuels - joined forces for this restoration scheme, concentrating on whole blocks of property. One of the most interesting buildings in this scheme the Golden Lion House, dating from 1740, a former hotel, comprises now 6 flats and a ground floor office.
