Description:
The Riksdag and the Riksbank, two opposite buildings from the same architect, dating 1864 to 1906 have been reconstructed and adapted to the new parliamentary system. The Riksbank Building has been raised by a new Assembly Hall and the two buildings have been connected through passages on top of existing arcades. Little exterior alterations, the two buildings form an architectural unit on both sides of the street and function inside as one building. The Riksbank building was internally altered while the Riksdag interior was restored to the original Art Noveau. Connection passage to other government buildings cross the river.
