Description:
Dominated by Katharina Church in the south part of Stockholm, and overlooking the harbor with a splendid view over water and town is the Block Drottningen. Four sites have been restored and converted into modern residential buildings or group of houses. The old buildings at the site were demolished earlier or had to be pulled down now because they were rotten. Two stone houses, dating from 1730 were restored and the pulled down wooden gable house rebuilt. The rather small sites with big difference of levels together with the surrounding old buildings invited to a new building scheme with narrow houses of different levels with different roof profiles and divided in a small-scaled manner. Balconies were built to the court yard to correspond with the old surrounding buildings.
