Description:
Berwaldhallen is the Concert Hall of the Swedish Radio Company: The building with a hexagonal auditorium is situated in the diplomatic district in Djurgarden close to Central Stockholm and is a new popular meeting place. Owing to, for example, the sensitive environment, two-thirds of Bergwaldhallen is built into the rock. In designing and siting the concert hall, a more than one-hundred-year old building of historical interest, the Törnerska Villa, was taken into consideration. Existing trees were protected and kept. The concert hall is connected by a subterranean passage with the broadcasting house.
