Description:
Since 1685 the Klostergarden in Suntak was used as an official residence for the company commanders of the Skaraborg Regiment. Between 1869 and 1872, when the land was partitioned, a new two-storey dwelling house was built for them, about a hundred metres from the original site. This residence remained unoccupied during the 1980s and the house fell into disrepair and became seriously damaged by rot and dry-rot. Thanks to private initiative it has been restored to its former glory. A new roof was put on, the windows with their handblown panes have been carefully repaired, the house was repainted in the original colours, and the interior has been refurbished, using the old doors fittings etc. The dilapidated summerhouse was pulled down and rebuilt, and the garden is gradually brought back to its original beauty.
