Description:
Åkers Styckebruk is one of the oldest ironwoks in the province of Södermanland, dating back to the 16th century. A small community grew up around the factory, which was self-supported. Åkers Styckebruk Ltd restored the industrial buildings, the workmen´s dwellings as well as the stables and barns. Only traditional materials and methods were used by the restoration. Windows and doors were painted with traditional linseed oil and the facades were mended with lime mortar.
