Description:
The castle chapel together with the building itself was built in the 18th century on the basis of Jakab Fellner's and Jozsef Grossmann's projects. The fresco was made by Ignatz Mihldorfer. The dome fresco displays Jesus's so called first ascension. The walls are covered with rich ornamental decoration. After 1945 the occupation Soviet army took possession of the building. The chamber was used as a lavatory, it was whitewashed several times. Since 1960 it has been the library's reading-room. The idea of restoration came up in 1986. It was realized by joined forces of some institutions. The chamber plays an important role in Papa's cultural life as a community hall. It is usual scene of lectures, scientific conferences, writer - reader meetings and exhibtion openings.
