Description:
The three buildings are typical for this region. By the end of the 1970s they were in poor condition. Following a scheme carried out by a non-profit housing enterprise they underwent restoration to provide 141 well equipped flats. The prevailing institutional purpose - providing residences for old people - was to be maintained. In doing so, the historical groundplans in both the Glandorps Passage (Glandorps Gang) and Glandorps Court (Glandorps Hof) had to be altered in order to achieve adequated sized dwellings. The old plans of the front houses were essentially preserved. The one storey "Passage" properties are ideal for older people. The fine renaissance building, with its lovely Norman-arched portals, is suitable for families, as is the late-gothic neighbour, the Ilhorn Home. The social mix has a beneficial impact on the neighbourhood.
