Description:
Because of structural problems only the outer shell of the building could be kept: restoration of main facades and the roof framework of steel and timber. Cleaning and restoring of the main fresco. Providing modern theatre facilities, improving stage and pit. A new annex was built, in place of the demolished La Merced Convent, to house dressing rooms and provide a courtyard access to the several levels of the building.
