Description:
Restoration of an old fort building constructed in 1856 as part of defense system of the border (following decision of the 1815 Vienna Congress). The Rastatt fortification never saw active service and remained as a relic of that period. Restoration of masonry, new insulating wooden panels for part of the walls, new floors, new insulating windows, new air and heat installations. New grass-covering of the roof. Since 1890 the building has been used as a stable or for small industry, but was often empty. After its restoration the building serves as music school for handicapped children.
