Description:
Nearly 100 years after the construction of an obelisk in honor of the deceased Hessian grand duke Ludwig IV this monument was damaged in World War II, and finally totally dismantled. In 1974 a basement garage was built under the place and therefore the obelisk removed and stored. The obelisk was re-erected and the whole place got a new design as a place for events. Missing and decoration parts were rebuilt. The monument was spot-lighted and the place paved with granite stone.
