Description:
Restoration of historic buildings and maintenance work in Kew; new conservatory and exhibition/library centre within the site. The last decade has been one of impressive progress in the buildings environment at RBG Kew, both with regard to the restoration of its historic buildings, particularly the two largest, the Palm House & the Temperate House, and to the recent buildings notably the two large ones, the Princess of Wales Conservatory & the Sir Joseph Banks Centre each sensitively designed to be assimilated into these well loved botanic gardens. The first three are glasshouses, the last partially so, each contributed to and benefitted from a fund of expertise in this special building type.
