A restoration project on a derelict canal using volunteers and contractors involving a partnership of Local Authority Welsh Office, Welsh Development Agency and a Voluntary Society to conserve the environment and provide a leisure and recreational facility for all. Work undertaken: 1) clearing of overgrowth, removal of deposited silt, 2) excavation of old canal, installation of overflow sluice, reconstruction of canal towpath 3) reconstruction of canal bed 4) rebuilding of locks, bridges 5) restoration of aqueduct
