Description:
Reconditioning of former Artillery Barracks of San Carlos as an old people's home. The town of Olivenza enjoyed a period of prosperity after the conquest of America, but in recent timmes has suffered a long decadence and the whole area of Extremadura is one of the poorest in Spain. It is, therefore, of particular merit that the Town Council has taken these important steps to recover elements of the architectural heritage which have a considerable impact on the town as a whole.
