Description:
Sonsbeek, a former country estate, is laid out in the English Iandscape style with nice perspectives, unexpected vistas and romantic scenery. Since 1965 Sonsbeek has been on the national Iist for the protection of valuable monuments. ln 1999 it was commemorated that Sonsbeek was acquired by the community of Arnhem. Several buildings, such as the 'Begijnemolen', the water mill, the visitors' centre and the porters' lodges were properly restored, and so were other constructions such as the cascades, gates, fences, bridges and signposts. Several vistas were restered and entrances newly laid out.
