Description:
The Silver Jubilee Walkway, a pedestrian leisure route encompassing points of interest in Central London to mark the Silver Jubilee of the Queen, was inaugurated by Her Majesty The Queen on the 9th June 1977, when she unveiled the bronze plaque mounted on the plinth of the South Bank Lion Sculpture. This public Walkway, which is 12 miles long, is marked by cast aluminium pavement route markers as well as several viewing panels at good vista points and enable both Londoners and visitors to know better the rich heritage and outstanding features of Central London.
