In the neighborhood of Panagia Charitomeni is located one of the largest houses of Chorio, the upper town of Simi. When the renovation first began the house has been neglected for 30 years. Due to broken roof tiles wind and rain had damaged the wooden parts, priming and painting. Features left were good enough to show the particular style of the house. Restoration plans have kept all the original features. The materials used were traditional ones such as local stone, wood, ceramic roof tiles. Concrete was used only where necessary, local craftsmen were engaged for the restoration.
