The project intends to highlight the mining heritage of the area and use it as a cultural tourist product. An old English hospital has been rehabilitated into a museum and history centre, a workers neighbourhood has been restored and an old mining railway now can bring visitors to the biggest open cast mine in Europe. To project is bringing a positive light to a depressed area. A Roman necropolis is accesible for visitors.
