Description:
Rococo-style bathing pavilion (1899-1900) on the shores of Lake Zurich. An elegant segmented arched bridge connected the land to the artificially poured island, surrounded by roughly hewn sandstone walls. The pavilion is built of yellow Muschelkalk limestone with a copper roof. Complete restoration, including foundations, facade shell, roof, interior stucco decorations and furnishings, and the environment. In particular, the foundations (rotting wooden posts and corroded load bearing structure) were replaced by a new steel structure which was then sealed in concrete. The building is now the scene for a variety of cultural events.
