Description:
The Lister Housing Co-operative saved the buildings from demolition. Restoration and rehabilitation of Georgian houses and tenements forming a complete city block in Edinburgh Old Town Conservation Area. Extensive work was undertaken including removal of later additions- rebuilding of ground floor areas, which were destroyed for shops, major repair to the structure, cleaning and a new infill block providing housing for disabled and general amenities. Landscaping of front gardens and back green. On completion there are 122 flats, 14 new flats, a shop, a doctor's surgery and a Community Hall.
