Description:
Recorvery and restoration of the ambiences, salons, decoration and collections of the Cerralbo mansion, returning them to the original appearance they had during the Marquis of Cerralbo's lifetime, and showing the visitor its restored works of art. The Museo Cerralbo therefore reflects a way of life, practices and customs that visitors today find strange, those of the late 19th century and early 20th century high society. It also recalls the figure of the Marquis of Cerralbo, a scholar, traveller, politician, collector, lover of fine art, patron of artists and benefactor who bequeathed his mansion and collections to the Spanish state for the enjoyment and education of the whole of society.
