Description:
An 18th century Grade I designed landscape garden of national importance with its unique range of garden buildings, features, views and vistas. Painshill has been rescued from dereliction and decay, being faithfully restored to the original design of the Honourable Charles Hamilton (1704-1786). The restoration has been carefully researched and meticulously carried out with support from English Heritage and opened full time to the public in April 1997.
