Description:
Restoration of a redundant Water Tower and conversion into one of the finest countryside centres on the South Downs. At the top of the tower is a Camera Obscura, which provides visitors with marvellous views of the surrounding countryside. During 1988, the hospital served by the tower for many years became redundant and the site, including the Tower, was sold. The tower was opened to the public in 1991. The main aim of the Tower is to facilitate greater understanding and appreciation of the Countryside, and in particular, the South Downs.
