Description:
The history of the church, monastery (just remains mostly underground) and earthwork goes back to the 10th-11th centuries, being one of the most important historic places in Transylvania. The present project represents one of the flrst finalised professional restoration works in Transylvania financed in 100% from private resources. The building was hired to the Unite Church in 1924, than confiscated by the Orthodox church, and given back to its rightful owner in 1995, when design and restoration started. The building needed internal and external architectural refurbishment and conservation as well as important structural interventions and reinforcement.
