Two monastic complexes dating to the 18th and 19th centuries - typical examples of the vernacular architecture of the area. The restoration works included the protection and display of the roman ruins in the form of a permanent exhibition accessible to the public. Strong emphasis on the use of traditional materials and building techniques, as a means of preserving the authenticity of the area. New constructions are clearly differentiated form the old materials. Adaption of some of the structures adjacent to the churches to provide hostel facilities.
