Description:
The project was carried out in agreement with the community trying to maintain and expose all details of the former synagogue which could be restored adequately and at the same time to ensure - with the less technical intervention and mainly with a mobile refurbishment - a new function, useful for the village. The reconstruction was realized with voluntary work of local inhabitants. Local artisans have saved the vaults from breakdown by cleaning the roof. Skilled work was carried out by competent organs and restorers. The plaster-work of the ceiling and balustrade of the choir were restored. Restorers renovated the bimah, the ark, and analogically, relaying on traces, they reconstructed the once hand wash-basin and the collecting case too. They make efforts to design the unavoidable necessary new parts of the building (covering, barriers, doors…) in a modest but exact way.
