Description:
Restoration of three typical Danish houses and conversion into nine flats. The building Slotsgade 31 was built in 1575 as a living- and trade house for a local cook, working for the Duke of Holstein who lived at the time in the castle in Haderslev. The house, a half-timbered building in three parts covered with tiles, was built in the typical style of the area, strongly influenced by the architecture of northern Germany. By 1992 the houses had fallen into disrepair. In 1993 the complex was restored and converted into 9 flats and sold to a cooperative housing society. The courtyard is restored with cobblestones.
