Description:
"Yellow Warehouse", built around 1790, lies in the inner harbour in front of the Amalienborg Quarter. It was restored and converted into 40 flats. The Classicist building was preserved and a "night-time desert" repopulated. The wooden pile foundations had to be replaced by other foundation solutions. The burnt wooden floors were replaced by reinforced concrete slabs and supported so that the outer walls now only carry their own weight. Each former gate became a new entrance to the flats. Windows were widened to meet the requirements of daylight in the flats. The roof lights were reconstructed on the basic of old paintings.
