Description:
Restoration and conversion of a Victorian asylum into a mixed development of drama school, flats, studios and workshops. The building's Gothic appearance is echoed by its monastic plan, slightly varied in this instance by the substitution of the main hall for the church and its having two cloisters instead of one. Restoring of the burnt down main hall, reproducing exactly the original roof and painted ceiling. All wood in the entire building except roof timbers was renewed, all plastering replaced. Main difficulty repairing the main building was the adaptation to new uses.
