Description:
The restoration of Speirs Wharf and conversion to new uses is not only a bold attempt to bring a large complex of historically and visualiy significant buildings into use; it is also a highly successful private/public sector partnership to create a development of sufficient magnitude and impact that it will act as a catalyst for new private sector development and investment in a run down inner City area. The development comprises the restoration of 12 buildings listed by the government as being architecturally significant and conversion to create 149 1, 2 and 3 bedroom flats for sale; a Ieisure centre and 5000 m2 of studio/ office/ workshop space.
