Description:
Panagia tou Sinti is a monastery in the Pafos District of Cyprus. Historical evidence of the monastery is scant, but it was most likely founded in the 16th century. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It was inhabited by monks until 1927. When it was abandoned it decayed more and more and was in terrible condition. The monastery was restored and is again in use as a place of worship. The monastery itself has not been completely restored, due to the lack of information about its original form. The main purpose of the project was the consolidation and protection of the monastery from decay and deterioration with a minimum of intervention. Traditional construction methods with local stone and lime mortar were used. Modern materials were restricted to a minimum. The refectory will be used as a small museum
