Description:
Rebuilding and restoration of Christiansborg Palace Church in Copenhagen after a fire in 1992. Christiansborg Palace Church was built by architect C.F. Hansen as part of the second Christiansborg Palace and was inaugurated in 1826. In 1992 the roof and dome of the church burnt down, and the interior was severely damaged by fire and water. The reconstruction of the dome and roof construction and the restoration of the internal surfaces of marbled stucco were very complicated and required great technical insight and craftsmanship. The work was completed in 1996 and the restored church was inaugurated on 14th January 1997.
